The song's chorus interpolates the Ronettes' 1963 hit "Be My Baby", with original vocalist Ronnie Spector providing uncredited vocals and reprising her role. Songwriting credit was given to Mike Leeson, Peter Vale, Ellie Greenwich, Phil Spector and Jeff Barry. From the beginning, I’d been more focused on these auditions. I’d just put it down to Stevie being sure she’d get Goneril and not even having to worry about it, but now I wasn’t so sure. From the trailer, I thought the film was gonna be stupid and boring. However, after watching the film, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It reminded me of movies like License to Drive, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Grosse Point Blank. I thought this was a better version of an homage to the 1980s than the movie, Hot Tub Time Machine. From the looks to the music, I loved hearing and seeing the 80s here.

As it was now early November, it was well past time for her to be crushing on someone new, and Zach seemed like a promising rebound. By the time the bell rang, I was already halfway out the door. Ok, the only reason I started watching this was for Anna Faris, but she didn't even have any comedy scenes!! Verified reviews are considered more trustworthy by fellow moviegoers. It has a charming sweetness about it, but Take Me Home Tonight is neither funny nor original enough to live up to the comedies it evokes.

Like I said, the format is not original but the content was well done. The painful awkward moments were very painful and awkward, the funny bits were very funny, you felt there was a connection there (albeit a one way connection at first since it's that kind of a movie), and it didn't seem forced . People that don't enjoy slightly grown up teen comedies may not enjoy this film but I for one had a blast. “Well, that’s a given,” I said, joining them again.
